An amazing place to go to to celebrate the holidays with your family is the beautiful and Iconic New York City. Many holiday films were filmed in New York including Home Alone 3 park of the iconic Home Alone series where the main character Kevin goes to Rockefeller Plaza to try to meet his mom again. In New York especially during the holidays there is an endless amount of things you can do. Whether it be looking at the grand holiday shop display that happens annually at luxury store Saks 5th Avenue or going to beautiful Bryant Park with small cozy shops, delicious restaurants and their very own ice skating rink. As I mentioned before a must-see destination to visit in the city is Rockefeller Plaza. In Rockefeller there is the iconic Rockefeller tree which is huge and beautifully decorated with lights. There is also an ice skating rink which every year, and every day during the holidays there is always a long line to skate at. The reason for this being that it is right under the Rockefeller tree and it is like you are at a picturesque holiday scene from a movie. Here many wedding proposals also take place so you might see one.

The next place I mentioned before which is a good place to visit is Bryan Park. Bryant Park during the holiday transforms into what could almost be a winter village. There is an array of shopping kiosks where you can buy unique souvenirs like magnets and tote bags. As well as the unique items that are sold there Bryan Park has delicious food. From everything to crepes to delectable chocolates. At Bryant Park they also have their very own ice rink which many people and families skate on every year. For your convenience at the Bryan Park rink you can rent skates if you didn’t bring any or if you decide last minute you wanted to skate. Bryant Park is definitely a very good holiday destination in the city.

Another beautiful place that’s usually packed during the holidays in the city is St. Patrick’s cathedral. Every year hundreds of people enter the church. St. Patrick’s cathedral is New York City’s most visited religious site. It’s home to The Archbishop of New York City. St Patrick’s Cathedral is a Roman-Catholic church. But when visiting during the holidays you don’t have to be extremely religious you can also be part of another religion and visit it. The main reason people visit this church during the holidays is because of its beautiful architecture that’s Neo Gothic style. As well as the church’s architecture there is also some very grand religious decorations and statues that you can see. Luckily this church is also conveniently located right across the street from Rockefeller Plaza.

As well as the well decorated parks and places to visit. New York also has many shops that decorate their stores for the holidays. These shops usually aren’t decorated the way they are throughout the year. An example of one of these things is the dinosaur made of leather shown above. This dinosaur was created and decorated specifically because of the holidays. This display was in the famous designer purse store Coach. So similar to that many other stores do many other things for the holidays since they know that many people visit the city during that time.
